In an effort to get more wears out of my clothes - thus avoiding shopping - I have decided not to separate them in work wear and fun wear. Take this dress I bought in Dubai over the Summer. It is such a great dress, perfect for the hot weather. I fell in love with it instantly and could not wait to wear it. I did just that one Friday morning to go to the office.  Work look:  White eyelet dress - Centerpoint Scarf - gift Espadrilles - Aldo  Bag - Finezza  Necklace - HLM market  I was feeling very comfortable the entire day except for the shoes. I forgot how high they were. I toyed with the idea of adding a belt but in the end I could not be bothered.  Later on the same day, I was supposed to meet my girlfriends for dessert at Terrou bi hotel. I did not want to change into another outfit. I told the girls earlier that the dress code would be traditional since it was Friday (day where Muslim go to the mosque to pray- like Sunday for Christians).  Hi y'all! Happy New Year 2024! How is the first month of the year 2024 treating you? I a doing almost fine. I have indulged in the last days of 2023. Therefore I am dealing with a lenghthy indigestion. I need to go see a doctor and figure out why my stomach is getting upset.  The first week of January, I had my aunt visit us from London. She is the younger sister of my father but we are the same age (African familes). We grew up together. and even after we were separated, we still kept in touch. She came to Senegal after nearly 20 years. And she absolytely wanted to go visit Saint Louis, Touba and Diourbel. So my Dad and I accompagny her. My Dad drove all the way to Saint Louis (Ndar) one sunday morning. We stopped by a small village near Kebemer, to buy cute potteries and fans made in plastic. I bought two clay pots used to burn incense. They were too cute to resist. The irony is that I never burn incense because I am allergic. On top of that, I bought them hoping to decorate my

Concert of the year

Happy new year all! I wish that 2024 brings you happiness, peace, love, money and great health! As they say in my country, if this year is going to be bad, may it be better than 2023. I booked my ticket online For the first day of 2024, I did something crazy: I went to a concert alone. One of the greatest singer in Senegal called Youssou Ndour , was having a concert.  Every new year, he holds a concert or two for his fans. As far as I could remember, I have always loved his music. My dad would put his tapes on when I was a child. I prefer his old songs but his new repertory is not bad either. However, as much as I liked the singer, I have never been to his concerts. I do not like to state this fact out loud because I must be the only Senegalese, who has never attended his concert. I had the opportunity when I was a teenager. Back then, Youssou Ndour would have a huge concert at a stadium near my house, on the 25th of December. But during that period I was more into Rap music than the
