Fuchsia Billy Green

In the spirit of trying to wear more of my clothes, I finally decided to wear this parka to work the other day. I had purchased it two years ago, mainly for its vibrant color but also because I thought I would need it while traveling abroad. This was right before Corona arrived and messed up our lives. This parka had been sitting in my closet for two long years because it was never too cold to wear it. Scarf - old Fuchsia Parka- Pleated skirt - thrifted Tee and Slingbacks - Numero Uno That quickly changed at the beginning of february. The weather was finally cooperating. On a brisk tuesday morning, I wore the parka to work. I paired it with a pleated skirt and matching slingbacks.  I love parkas. When I was living in Japan, I used to pair them with mainly jeand and pants but also some skirts from time to time. However, I would have never thought about this combination, living in my city. A true Senegalese fashionista would have worn the skirt with a blazer or the parka with some denim

Gold ( Pullman Hotel Sunday Brunch)

Hello There! Back in december, I went to the Pullman hotel's Sunday brunch with my brother and son. The entire family was supposed to go but at the last minute, plans changed.  Blouse - Numero Uno Denim - Random store in Sandaga Bag - Minawa (Gift) Shoes - Kadel Earrings - Imaara  As usual, the Pullman Sunday Brunch did not disappoint; there was a wide variety of food from savory to sweet, hords d'oeuvre to desert. I indulged a bit too much eating mainly seafood and fish, finishing it all with cheescakes and a mocaccino. Still some food left when we were preparing to live by 4 PM. Sushi, salad, tuna pate and croissant for starters If you have been reading me for a while, you know how much I love the Pullman hotel. But I have never stayed there. At the end of the year, they had some interesting deals that I could have tried. However, those deals were mainly for couples. I just wished they had deals for single people  as well. Anyway, 2022 might be the year I finally book that r

We are the Champions! (AFCON 2021)

Hello! Hi! I never talk sports here mainly because I am not really into it, and this is a fashion and style blog after all. But I come from a country that loves sport. We particularly enjoy Soccer or Football. The first toy boys receives when they start walking is a ball. When they are older, they play outside the house with their friends hoping to become one day the next Pele or Messi. Senegal as a nation is so into soccer, it hurts when we lose. And we have lost a lot over the years. You can read about some of our losses on my previous post.   The Senegalese team winning their first ever AFCON Cup But today we enter a new era of winning. Yesterday for the first time ever we won the African Cup of Nations. This cup is a soccer competition between African nations. Senegal has been participating since 1965. There were many instances we thought we would win mainly because we had a good team. It was the case in Cairo in 1986, in Dakar in 92, in Mali in 2002, in Gabon in 2017 and in Egypt

Disappointed again!! (AFCON CUP 2017)

***I wrote this post back in 2017 but never go to publish it. Today seems like the perfect time.*** The AFCON (African Cup of Nations- Soccer) has finished and I had been slightly interested by it at all. When it comes to Sports, I am like Wendy Williams: I am interested in it only when it crosses over with juicy gossips. Another reason why I am not really into it is because my team aka Senegal has been tagged as a favorite since the preliminary rounds. And knowing my people, we get all excited about it, thinking that we already won the cup only to be let down by the players. I have always supported the Senegalese team. Whenever they played, I would watch along with my family or back at school with my girlfriends (I was in a boarding school). But they never could satisfy me. That is why over the years,  I tone my enthusiasm down.
