New hairstyle : Sisterlocks

Image
I did it! I finally took the plunge. After years of hesitating and procastinating! You are probably wondering what I am talking about? I am talking about having Sisterlocks.  Total look - Numero Uno Bag - Max - Dubai Mall  If you do not know, Sisterlocks is a type of hairstyle, ressembling dreadlocks. However, the Sister locks are tinier and are made used a different technique involving a crochet.  As someone who cannot take care of her hair, I have toyed with the idea of getting it done for a while now. I was influenced by some of my friends who already have them or dreadlocks. They used to tell me that they the locks are low maintenance. But I could never wrap my head around getting them. Instagram: @imanitaylorgood Since I cannot really show you my hair, let me share a picture of what sisterlocks are supposed to look like (or at least what I hope mine will look like someday) The main reason being that the sisterlocks are permanent. Once you have them installed, removing them is a l

End of Summer in Saly

Image
Hi there! This Summer, before the boys returned home at the end of their month with me, I took them out of the city. We went to Saly yet again but this time we stayed at Saly Niakhniakhal in a B&B called le Clos des Papillons. You can read my review of the place here . The entrance to Le Clos de Papillon All we did in Saly was stay in bed to read or watch Law and Order, go to the pool and eat. We did manage to go out almost everyday to eat out and I discovered a new restaurant that I really enjoyed called Iroko beach . It is located not far from Saly center outside a former hotel called Crystallines. The seating is right in front of the sea so we could enjoy the breeze. The menu is not so diverse. The boys ordered burgers with fries (cheeseburger with beef bacon and, chicken burger ). I had Fajitas and as appetizers we had some Nachos. The food was aboslutely exquisite. The burgers might be the most expensive burgers I have ever bought but they were huge and tasted good. My Fajit

21 questions

Image
Do you know the song 21 questions by 50 cents, where he asks his girlfriend 21 questions about him and their relationships? Well, on the Internet, several people (mostly women) have came up with questions they think one must ask on first dates or to the person they are dating to determine whether or not they are suitable. Suitable for mariage, for those who are dating to seek a legal and/or accepted by religion long termed partner. Those questions can range from "do you want children?" to "where do you want to live after mariage?". Or just the basic: "are you dating anyone else at the moment?" But they can also be deeper. When I was getting married, it never occured to me to ask those questions. All I wanted was to be that man's

Christmas Bazaar in Dakar

Image
Hello! We have entered what Americans call the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (well amost). We are now in the last two months of the year, and Christmas is coming. And who says Christmas says presents, which means shopping which means several oppportunities to shop. I love this time of the year. First, more than half of my family is born during the last months of the year, which gives us an extra incentive to celebrate. But secondly, I enjoy buying and giving presents. And I also like good deals. Many big businesses offer discount. But others organize Christmas bazaar, fairs and private sales all over the city. As an entrepreneur myself, I try to participate in those fairs to market my goods and attract new clients. However, as a shopping addict, I also like to attend those events. Case in poi

Hi y'all. How have you been? At the end of October, I attended an event to raise money for LISCA . LISCA is the Senegalese league fighting against Cancer. The organisation provides free cancer screening, medications and support to people (mostly women) with cancer. Every year, in October, LISCA is very active to raise awareness against breast cancer, with free screening events and fund raisings.  Poster for the event This year, Khady Niang Diakhate , reknown Senegalese make up artist, organised an event under the theme of Sorority to raise funds for LISCA. She asked some of her designer friends to prepare for a fashion show. The clothes would be auctionned off to raise funds for LISCA. But during the event, she also wanted to celebrate some brave women who are working hard for the empowerement of women in Senegal and in Africa.  Sequin boubou - Sinniature (my own brand) Bag - Nene Yaya Shoes - local brand I attended the event with my friend and her mother.
