Ode to My Fashion

 Hi y'all! Happy New Year 2024! How is the first month of the year 2024 treating you? I a doing almost fine. I have indulged in the last days of 2023. Therefore I am dealing with a lenghthy indigestion. I need to go see a doctor and figure out why my stomach is getting upset.  The first week of January, I had my aunt visit us from London. She is the younger sister of my father but we are the same age (African familes). We grew up together. and even after we were separated, we still kept in touch. She came to Senegal after nearly 20 years. And she absolytely wanted to go visit Saint Louis, Touba and Diourbel. So my Dad and I accompagny her. My Dad drove all the way to Saint Louis (Ndar) one sunday morning. We stopped by a small village near Kebemer, to buy cute potteries and fans made in plastic.  Hi there! This Summer, before the boys returned home at the end of their month with me, I took them out of the city. We went to Saly yet again but this time we stayed at Saly Niakhniakhal in a B&B called le Clos des Papillons. You can read my review of the place here . The entrance to Le Clos de Papillon All we did in Saly was stay in bed to read or watch Law and Order, go to the pool and eat. We did manage to go out almost everyday to eat out and I discovered a new restaurant that I really enjoyed called Iroko beach . It is located not far from Saly center outside a former hotel called Crystallines. The seating is right in front of the sea so we could enjoy the breeze. The menu is not so diverse. The boys ordered burgers with fries (cheeseburger with beef bacon and, chicken burger ). I had Fajitas and as appetizers we had some Nachos. The food was aboslutely exquisite.  Hello Everyone! It has been a while since I last posted on my blog. I apologize. I am not sure what kept me away. I guess I was just not inspired to do so. We fast from dawn till dusk and it means that we do not eat nor drink. But Ramadan is not only to deprive yourself of food, it is a way to get closer to God as you have to be on your best behavior and pray more.  This Ramadan I did not feel as tired as the previous ones. As I am working from home now, I do not need to commute. It also means that I do not need to bother figuring out what to wear, and rushing to get out to find a cab to take me to the office on time.  Hi! I was discussing with a friend living abroad about social clubs, the type of place where people pay a membershi p and can join to do different activities such as sport, and leisure . She was hoping to join a posh club in her city in an effort to widen her horizons and meet new people. I told her that I found the idea of clubs to be elitist and racist but th at I could understand her need to join one .   Salut!
