Ode to My Fashion

 Hello! I am sharing more of the Dubai content today. The topic of the day is shopping. I did tell you in my previous posts that we went to several malls and the Souk during our 6 nights/7 days stay. I did not initially plan on shopping at lot. I had made a mental list to get things I cannot easily acquire in Dakar. Here is what I wanted: nice dress for a wedding, a burqini, a white eyelet dress, undergarments, and platform shoes.   Aujourd'hui, je vais encore vous parler de Dubaï. Le sujet du jour est le shopping. Je vous ai dit dans mes articles précédents que nous sommes allées dans plusieurs centres commerciaux et au Souk pendant notre séjour de 6 nuits/7 jours. Au départ, je n'avais pas prévu de faire beacoup de shopping.  J'avais fait une liste mentale des choses a acheter, que je ne peux pas facilement acquérir à Dakar. Voici ce que je voulais : une belle robe pour un mariage, un burqini, une robe blanche à œillets, des sous-vêtements et des chaussures à plateforme...

And after Eid, the president announced that he won't seek a third term, thus ending the years long debate and in a way apeasing the tensions.  And as for me, I went to Dubai. It was my first trip outside of my country in 7 years. And no, going to the Gambia, which is my second home does not really count.  At the beginning of July, I joined my best friend in Dubai. She had scheduled a trip with her sister and daughter there and asked me to join them. It was our first girls trip since 2003, almost 20 years ago.  For the trip, I wanted to pack light and comfortable clothes since it would be hot in Dubai.
