Tapas and drinks ( Hotel Le Djoloff review)

Image
Hello everyone!  Are you enjoying summer? Well I am trying. I am in a constant mood of going out. I have been out quite a lot with family and friends. Recently I went out to dine with a friend at a local hotel located in the Fann area: Hotel Le Djoloff. I have heard of this hotel for a while but I have never thought about going there. I have to say that I had quite a surprising visit there. Hotel Le Djoloff is tucked away in a neighborhood not far from the university. A ctually, it was the fir...

Gold ( Pullman Hotel Sunday Brunch)

Image
Hello There! Back in december, I went to the Pullman hotel's Sunday brunch with my brother and son. The entire family was supposed to go but at the last minute, plans changed.  Blouse - Numero Uno Denim - Random store in Sandaga Bag - Minawa (Gift) Shoes - Kadel Earrings - Imaara  As usual, the Pullman Sunday Brunch did not disappoint; there was a wide variety of food from savory to sweet, hords d'oeuvre to desert. I indulged a bit too much eating mainly seafood and fish, finishing it all with cheescakes and a mocaccino. Still some food left when we were preparing to live by 4 PM. Sushi, salad, tuna pate and croissant for starters If you have been reading me for a while, you know how much I love the Pullman hotel. But I have never stayed there. At the end of the year, they had some interesting deals that I could have tried. However, those deals were mainly for couples. I just wished they had deals for single people  as well. Anyway, 2022 might be the year I finally ...

Sunday Brunch at the Novotel

Image
In my forever quest to find the best eating places in Dakar, I decided to check the Sunday brunch at the Novotel with the kids recently. I have been to the Novotel several times in my lifetime. I started when I was a teen for swimming lessons. When I returned home, I patronized the place many times for work and for fun. When Covid hit the country, the hotel served as quarantine facilities. They reopened to the general public last year and introduced a new brunch formula.  Dress - Numero Uno  Shoes - H&M Bag - Gift  Now let me give you my review of the brunch.  The price of the brunch is very attractive: 20.000 FCFA for adults, and 12.000 FCFA for kids 4 to 12 years old. I think it is one of the cheapest among the major hotels in the city. Another great aspect is that the brunch is centered around kids activities with access to the pool, ride on poneys and others games provided. The restaurant itself is not super huge but the decor is nice and cosy enough. ...

Photo exhibit in Dakar

Image
Hello Hello Hello! I have this routine of going out with the boys whenever they come over on vacations. The weekends I have them, are often too short to do anything significant a part from eating out and visiting family. Therefore when they are on a break, I plan a day in the city. Usually it is to do something cultural. Today I wanted to show them the exhbit of Omar Victor Diop , a senegalese photographer showing at Manege gallery of the Institut Francais (French Institute). Duster - Petersen market Bodysuit - Kiabi Pants - Numero Uno Bag - Jolof Cuir Collection Shoes - Sandaga market  Before going to see the exhibit, we stopped over at Arirang to have lunch. Arirang is probably the oldest Korean restaurant in the city. I have heard about how good it was from my Japanese colleagues. Yet I never got to try it until the other day. The restaurant is located in the city center next to the Press cafe or Carnot street. The place itself is very cosy and simple, nothing luxurious or...

Kotao brunch

Image
Hello Everyone How is Summer treating you? Did you make plans to travel? As for me, I am super busy at work to even think about vacations or travelling; Still I find little ways to get out and enjoy myself during this season. One of my favorite activity to do is Brunch. Dakar is a city that offers so many good places to eat in general. For brunching, I have to say that we are spoiled. Recently I went back to Kotao Coffee, a nice little restaurant in Almadies area with my brother and his family.  White ruffle shirt - street vendor at Sandaga market Jeans - Marwa Fashion Boutique Bucket bag- thrifted Mules - Class  Jewelry - HLM market  I have been there before, last year. One morning tired of working at home, I decided to check it out. Then I had the salmon avocado sandwich with some hot cocoa. I had a nice time but I found the place to be tiny. This time, it seems like they renovated and added more space. There are more seats and nice little areas where one could take pic...
