Hello there!
I finally went to the former Court house to see another biennale exhibition. I dragged the boys along the way. For Dak'Art 2022, the courthouse has been transformed into a huge art gallery, colorful and green. It was a very quiet and charming place. I just wish that our gouvernement finally do something about it and turn the entire place into a family friendly open space.

Je suis finalement allée à l'ancien palais de justice pour voir une autre exposition de la biennale. J'y suis allée avec les garçons. Pour Dak'Art 2022, le palais de justice a été transformé en une immense galerie d'art, colorée et verte. C'est un endroit très calme et charmant. Je souhaite juste que notre gouvernement fasse enfin quelque chose à ce sujet et rénove tout l'endroit en un espace ouvert centré sur les activités pour la famille.

For this exhibition, we had several artisits mainly African showcase their skills in painting, sculpture and such. I was blowned away by two art installations: one from Malian artist
Abdoulaye Konate and another by
Fally Sene Sow.
Il y avait plusieurs artistes africains spécialistes de la peinture, de la sculpture entre autres, qui exposaient au palais.
Mais j’ai été émerveillée par deux artistes en particulier: Abdoulaye Konate et Fally Sene Sow.
Abdoulaye Konate is a Malian artisit. At the former court house there is an entire space dedicated to his huge fresco made of fabric. When you take a closer look, you can see that they are like scraps one can find at the tailor's but more defined and stitched. As a fashion designer, I really enjoyed his work. I found it to be very inspiring.
Abdoulaye Konaté est un artiste malien. A l'ancien palais de justice il y a tout un espace dédié à ses immenses fresques en tissu. Lorsque vous vous rapprochez, elles ressemblent à des chutes de tissus que l'on peut trouver chez le tailleur, mais plus définies et cousues. J'ai vraiment apprécié son travail en tant que créatrice de mode. Je l'ai trouvé très inspirant.

Installation by Fally Sene Sow
Fally Sene Sow is a Senegalese plastic artist. He makes interesting art installations inspired by his environment. In the former court house he made an installation that reminded me of post apocalyptic era set in movies. It was scary and macabre. I loved it.
Fally Sene Sow est un artiste plasticien sénégalais. Il réalise des installations artistiques intéressantes inspirées de son environnement. Dans l'ancien palais de justice, il a réalisé une installation qui m'a rappelé l'ère post-apocalyptique de certains films. C'était effrayant et macabre. Je beaucoup apprécié son oeuvre.
There were other marvellous art around, some that made you think, some that shocked. Here are a few favorite.

Dak'Art 2022 ends this week even though some OFF exhibit will still be available around the city, My only regret is that I did not get to see everything on display. I also would have loved to have attended the free concert at the former court house. But I guess this will be for the next biennale in two years.
Dak'Art 2022 se termine cette semaine même si certaines expositions OFF seront encore disponibles dans la ville, Mon seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu tout voir. J'aurais aussi aimé assister aux concerts gratuits à l'ancien palais de justice. Mais je suppose que ce sera pour la prochaine biennale dans deux ans.
