Perfectissime (Spa review- manicure-pedicure)
Hello! I am really happy today and I thought that I would share why with y'all. I had a mani pedi date with a friend. She introduced me to this spa that is not so far from my place. We went on a friday afternoon. I arrived first and earlier (which never happens) and was greated to pleasant smiles. I was asked to sit and wait in a beautiful pink sofa. I was also asked if I wanted something to drink such as coffee, tea or water. I was actually asked twice because I declined the first time. The second time I settled for cold water. While I waited for my friend, I checked their "menu". The place is a spa so they offer massages, facials, manicure, pedicure, access to hamam and jaccuzzi among other things.
When my friend arrived, we were both escorted to the pedicure lounge, a brightly lit place with Louis 14 style huge chairs in black and gold. The personal had already laid out the material they were going to use on us, and warmed the water we were going to dip our feet in. They both went to work on us. I chose a special combination of classic pedicure and manicure. I was attended by a man. It was the first time in my life, I had a mani pedi done by a man. I had apprehensions at first but the experience was worth it. I have never felt such gentle touch in my entire life.
- Unprofessional staff. You know the type that you take an appointement with but are never ready when you show up. They are loud and gossip about everyone inside and outside the room, particularly clients. I had some ladies gossip about me while I was sitting in their chair because they thought I was a foreigner. Imagine the look on their faces when a cousin came to the salon and spoke to me in my native tongue. Thankfully for them, their gossip was not that mean. I also do not like the fact that they are screaming at each other and often arguing.
- Bad experience: I hate to pay for something and have a bad experience in return. For example, going to have a mani pedi, and coming out of the place more tensed than before because the staff did not execute the job properly. My feet are not smooth and glowy because they were too lazy to scrub them. And yes I know my feet were in a poor state but that is not a reason. I alo hate going to a massage and coming out sore. Massages are supposed to relax you. If I do not fall asleep after one, then you suck at your job.
Now that your understand where I am coming from, let us go back to the subject at hand. So, I was being taken care of by this man (a young boy really) named Abdel. He was really gentle and quiet. He srubbed my feet and did not hurt me. He spoke ever so gently I had problems hearing him (the mask did not help either). He waited for me to finish using my phone to rub my hands. At some point I was so relaxed, I just wanted to sleep. I think the spa music did not help as well. I also had nail polish. I chose different colors for my hands and toes. Abdel did my toes and another lady did my hand. I swear to God, they used a simple nail color, not the permanent one but my nails have never been so shiny in my entire life. At first I thought it was the chandelier lights but it stayed shiny even after, even in dull lighting. This is kind of addictive. I can't stop looking at my hands.
I had such fun experience there that I think I will go back. I want to try their massages and jacuzzi as well. It will be such a major step for me if I do. But I will surely go back for more mani pedi. This is what I deserve.
For those who want to know about the place, it is called Perfectissime and is located in Mermoz, behind IAM school. And no this is not an ad. I was not paid for writing this blog. I am just a happy customer that wanted to share my joy.
Now I think that to be fair, I have to go back there at least 2 more times to be sure that the service is actually up to par. But as of today I am highly satisfied.
