Out of the city
Hello everyone! It is getting chilly in my hometown of Dakar and I could not be happier. The heat we had back in October was unbearable. Speaking of heat, I took advantage of the long weekend we had when celebrating Mawlid to get out of the city with the boys and my brother's family.
We went to Mbour again, to a place called Saly Niakh Niakhal. I booked an entire house on Airbnb once again for a very reasonable price. This time we had a two-story house with four bedrooms and two living rooms. The house also had a pool and a parking place with three kitchens and a huge terrace. The house was a bit dainty but we felt really comfortable. It comes with a security guard who stays on-site and a maid who comes in the morning to clean.
During our stay, we did absolutely nothing except swim in the pool, watch Netflix, cook, eat, and take pictures. The house was quiet and one could retreat inside the rooms and rest. We did manage to go out in Saly to have some dessert at a local restaurant. The town was a bit deserted compared to before all due to the Coronavirus but you could still find some places open for business.
Our trip was short but fun. I liked the house except for the fact that it was way too big for us 6. It is also a bit old, some doors did not close properly and the air conditioning was leaking in my room. Do not book it if you expect luxury. However, I would give it a 6 out of 10.
It is always a pleasure getting out of the city and go somewhere quiet. We are really blessed to have these beautiful places to visit in my country and affordable places to stay. Next on my list is Sine Saloum.
